MIRI, Aug 3: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Baram slammed Bukit Aman’s decision to transfer nine police officers who are currently under investigation for extortion to Sabah and Sarawak.

In a statement today, PKR Baram chief Roland Engan said, the practice of sending problematic police personnel or officers from West Malaysia to Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak) must be stopped immediately.

He added, PKR Baram takes the matter seriously.

“Is this policy agreed (to) by Sarawak government, and why this region is made a target to place problematic policemen?” he questioned.

“Will their presence in Sabah or Sarawak change their problematic attitude, and is there any recovery process provided for them here?”

Roland said proper explanations must be provided to the people immediately regarding the matter.

“Without a proper and clear explanation from the Sarawak government, the federal government and Bukit Aman (PDRM) itself, it would create concern amongst the people of these two Borneo States being turn into a ‘dumping ground’ for problematic cops by the Malaya,” he said.

Roland said that the people of Sarawak have the right to get good civil servants, and not problematic ones. — DayakDaily
