DEBAK, Feb 27: The construction of Phase 2 of the Debak District Sports Complex has entered the implementation phase, with RM14 million allocated to develop world-class sports facilities for the local community.
Deputy Minister of Community Wellbeing Development and Saribas assemblyman Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam conducted a site visit on Monday (Feb 24) to ensure that the project progressed smoothly.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, the project includes the construction of a grandstand, expansion of the sports complex, and road infrastructure upgrades, aligning with Sarawak government’s commitment to strengthening sports facilities in the area.
Mohammad Razi emphasised that the initiative reflects the Sarawak government’s dedication to providing high-quality sports amenities for the people of Debak and the broader Saribas constituency.
“With enhanced sports infrastructure, we aim to create more opportunities for youth in Saribas to refine their talents while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
“This project is also a crucial step in fostering more competitions and sports development programs in the region,” he said.
