KUCHING, March 1: Sarawak United Peoples’s Party (SUPP) Youth Central secretary-general Milton Foo opines that the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) government’s failure was ignited by internal conflicts among the coalition’s component party members.

According to Foo in a press statement, if was not for the internal split within the coalition, agenda and mischief, greed for power, self-interests, arrogance and blatant disregard for the people’s interests, the PH government would not have collapsed.

“Nor could PN (Perikatan Nasional) be formed as the new federal government in any circumstances as the result of such failure. So who’s to blame now?” he questioned.

Foo opined that Democratic Action Party (DAP), as the biggest party nationwide with the most number of Parliamentary seats at 42, not only had failed to resolve the conflicts and infighting within PH, but they also vacillated their pledge of support between Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to him, this was to the extent that DAP was even willing to give way to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the upcoming state election if GPS supported PH in securing the administration.

He opined that DAP’s action was tantamount to a mockery of democracy and a betrayal of the people’s trust in them.

“There is no smoke without fire. This tale of political intrigue has resulted in the downfall of the PH empire, the ending of the PH government in barely two years since they took over Putrajaya,” he added. — DayakDaily
