Petros donates RM140,280 to Sarawak’s disaster relief fund

KUCHING, July 21: Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) today handed over a contribution of RM140,280 to the State Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) disaster relief fund.

Chairman of its Board of Directors, Tan Sri Hamid Bugo presented a cheque to SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at the latter’s office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia.

In a statement, Petros said the contribution would be used for the procurement of critical support equipment in Intensive Care Units of hospitals statewide.


The government-linked company said the amount donated was made up by voluntary contributions from individual employees, Petros executive management and Board of Directors as well as from the group corporate social responsibility fund.

“Today, we do so in solidarity with our healthcare frontliners and (their) services in the fight against Covid-19.
