KUCHING, June 24: The PETRONAS Twin Towers will host the World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT) Annual Members Conference 2026 from Sept 14 to 18, 2026, welcoming approximately 100 delegates from around the world.
According to a media release today, the gathering will bring together leading tower operators and industry experts for a week of exchange, collaboration and forward-looking dialogue on the future of landmark attractions.
As the centrepiece of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) precinct, the PETRONAS Twin Towers forms an integral part of the KLCCP Stapled Group’s asset portfolio under KLCC Real Estate Investment Trust (KLCC REIT). The KLCCP Stapled Group—comprising KLCC Property Holdings Berhad and KLCC REIT—is Malaysia’s largest and only stapled security, managing a diversified portfolio of iconic landmarks and premier commercial assets.
Founded in 1989, the World Federation of Great Towers is a not-for-profit international network of more than 50 iconic towers across over 20 countries, collectively attracting over 45 million visitors annually. Its Annual Conference serves as a closed-door platform for members to exchange best practices, share operational insights and explore innovative approaches to enhancing visitor experience and commercial sustainability.
Positioning Malaysia on the global stage
Hosting the WFGT Annual Conference 2026 aligns with national efforts under the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign to elevate tourism, attract international visitors and strengthen Malaysia’s global profile.
By convening decision-makers from some of the world’s most visited landmarks, the conference is expected to generate meaningful opportunities for knowledge exchange, industry benchmarking and long-term collaboration—advancing not only tower tourism but also the wider visitor economy.
A future-focused conversation on global experiences

Anchored on the theme “In Pursuit of Excellence”, the conference will explore how landmark towers can remain relevant in an evolving tourism landscape where travellers increasingly seek immersive, meaningful and technology-enabled experiences.
Through curated sessions, expert presentations and peer-led discussions, delegates will examine innovative approaches to transforming traditional observation decks into dynamic, multi-dimensional destinations that enhance engagement, encourage repeat visitation and unlock new revenue streams.
KLCC Property Holdings Berhad and KLCC REIT chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Sr Mohd Salem Kailany said: “Hosting the WFGT Annual Conference 2026 is a proud moment for us and for the PETRONAS Twin Towers. It reflects the confidence of the global community in our ability to deliver world-class experiences while bringing together leading voices in tower tourism.
“This platform allows us to showcase not only the PETRONAS Twin Towers, but also the broader strength of the KLCC Precinct as a vibrant, welcoming and future-ready destination. It is an opportunity to foster meaningful partnerships, exchange ideas and collectively shape how iconic landmarks continue to evolve as destinations of global significance.”
Ezarisma Azni Mohamad, CEO of Petrosains Sdn Bhd, which manages the operations of the PETRONAS Twin Towers Sky Xperience, said: “As operator and curator of the PETRONAS Twin Towers Sky Xperience, we are proud to play a leading role in bringing together some of the world’s most iconic towers and tourism destinations on a global platform.
“This conference reflects our growing strength in delivering meaningful, people-centric visitor experiences that blend culture, discovery and innovation. Through the PETRONAS Twin Towers Sky Xperience, we remain committed to curating immersive experiences that inspire curiosity and connection, and we look forward to welcoming global tower leaders to Kuala Lumpur with our signature warmth and hospitality.”
Jean-Yves Ghazi, executive director of the World Federation of Great Towers, said: “We are delighted to partner with the PETRONAS Twin Towers and hold the Federation’s annual conference in Kuala Lumpur, home to some of the best-in-class hospitality. The PETRONAS Twin Towers represent one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, and Malaysia offers a compelling destination with a strong tourism vision and welcoming culture.
“Our annual conference is a key platform for members to exchange ideas, address shared challenges, innovate and learn from best practices. As traveller expectations continue to evolve, these conversations are essential in helping members reimagine how great towers can deliver more engaging, meaningful and future-ready experiences.”
The conference will also be supported by fellow Malaysian WFGT member towers, Kuala Lumpur Tower and Kuantan 188, which will host curated delegate experiences and excursions, offering visiting members a broader perspective of Malaysia’s diverse tower attractions and tourism offerings.
While participation remains exclusive to WFGT members, the conference underscores Malaysia’s growing role in the global tourism landscape—strengthening international collaboration, showcasing Kuala Lumpur as a gateway for world-class visitor experiences, and reinforcing the country’s position on the global stage. — DayakDaily
