PETRONAS pledges support to Sarawak media as DayakDaily among 27 recognised with awards

KUCHING, Oct 26: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) has committed to continuing its support for the Sarawak media fraternity, including the upcoming Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2024, in acknowledging the insightful news reports and fair, objective coverage that have reinforced the multinational company’s role as an energy partner for Sarawak.

PETRONAS Group Strategic Relations & Communications senior general manager Siti Azlina Abdul Latif emphasised the importance of nurturing deep, lasting partnerships.

“To fulfill our purpose as a progressive energy and solutions partner, we value relationships based on common objectives, mutual understanding, respect, and, most importantly, trust,” she stated.

“In this regard, our rich history with Sarawak has enabled PETRONAS to significantly contribute to the State’s shared prosperity as well as support its ambition to foster and nurture a vibrant oil and gas sector,” she said.

Her remarks were delivered by Jalina Joheng, head of Media Communications Group Strategic Relations & Communications, during the PETRONAS Sarawak Media Appreciation Night held at the Hilton Hotel last night (Oct 25).

In light of recent milestones in the cleaner energy space, Siti Azlina affirmed PETRONAS’ commitment to help realise Sarawak’s aspiration for a lower-carbon economy.

“Such collaborations and partnerships with Sarawak merit greater media coverage,” she said.

At the event, DayakDaily was among 27 media houses recognised with awards by PETRONAS for their contributions.
