Petronas Muslim Staff Welfare Association donates RM20,000 to less fortunate

MIRI, May 26: The Petronas Muslim Staff Welfare Association (BAKIP) donated RM20,000 to the less fortunate in Kuala Baram yesterday, to help ease their burden during the month of Ramadhan.

The donation to 100 recipients was distributed at Masjid Nurul Iman, Kuala Baram in conjunction with the association’s annual Majlis Iftar Perdana Petronas Bersama Masyarakat programme.

Petronas vice-president of Group Health, Safety, Security and Environment Dzafri Sham Ahmad presented RM200 cash to each of the recipients.

Dzafri said that the donation was from Muslim staff in Petronas for the less privileged and they hoped their contribution can help ease the receipients’ burden.

Petronas personnel led by Dzafri (seated fifth left) together with the local community during a group photo session.

Also present at the event were Deputy Assistant Director of Sarawak Immigration Department Tuan Andika Tukiron, Sarawak Administration Officer (SAO) of Miri District Office Mariati Samat and community leader Temenggong Abdul Rahman Fadzail.

BAKIP also donated RM30,000 to 200 recipients at similar events in Kuching and Bintulu on May 22 and 25 respectively. — DayakDaily
