The objective of the workshop was to enhance the participants’ understanding of emergency and crisis management, as well as to help them comprehend their roles and responsibilities as emergency/crisis team members in ensuring preparedness and resiliency of Bintulu Division during emergencies and crises.

It was also designed as a platform to unify emergency and crisis responses as well as strengthen the engagement and collaboration between Petronas subsidiaries and relevant government disaster management authorities and agencies.

During the workshop, a disaster management tabletop exercise was conducted to enhance the clarity of Bintulu Division’s emergency and crisis management. It was facilitated by both Petronas and Nadma.

The workshop is part of the overall Petronas Disaster Management Collaborative Workshop series covering four strategic districts—Miri, Kemaman, Bintulu and Kota Tinggi—and will be conducted until the first quarter of 2023. Similar workshops under this programme were held earlier in Miri and Kemaman.

Petronas will continue to conduct similar workshops at its areas of operation across Malaysia in its bid to enhance emergency and crisis preparedness. — DayakDaily
