BINTULU, Jan 24: PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Asset) distributed food packages to 80 beneficiaries in Miri and Bintulu under its ‘Uplifting Lives: Chinese New Year Programme’.
With the support of the Sarawak Welfare Department (JKM), the initiative aims to bring festive cheer to families in need.
“PETRONAS provides essential food items and toiletries such as rice, cooking oil, flour, sugar, condensed milk, ketchup, noodles, coffee, oats, mandarin oranges, and various hygiene products,” it said in a statement today.
In Bintulu, the distribution took place today, covering areas such as Kemena Land District, Tanah Perkuburan Cina Batu 2, San San Garden, and several other locations.
Last week, the programme was held in Miri, where beneficiaries in areas such as Kampung Tudan Lot, Pujut 1, and Kampung Pujut Padang Kerbau received their packages.
The event was attended by Noriani @ Yati Mohamad, Head of Sarawak Asset, who expressed PETRONAS’ commitment to supporting the community.
“The festive season presents a cherished opportunity for individuals to unite with their loved ones in celebration.
“PETRONAS, with unwavering commitment, strives to do its part in ushering in festive cheer and spreading warmth to individuals and families alike,” she remarked.
The programme PETRONAS’ ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts to support underserved communities and work closely with JKM Sarawak to identify more beneficiaries.
In the coming weeks, the programme will expand to other districts and regions, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of helping those in need during festive seasons. — DayakDaily
