KUCHING, June 18: Petanak Market will be closed for three days starting today after a positive Covid-19 case was reported at the premises.
The market will be closed from today until Sunday (June 20) for thorough sanitising as a precautionary measure.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng confirmed that a positive Covid-19 case was detected there, prompting the closure of the market.
“The market will be closed for three days, as cleaning and sanitising works will be conducted on the first day of the closure.
“Following that, all hawkers and operators at the market have been ordered to undergo swab tests,” he told DayakDaily when contacted today.
Petanak Market will resume operations as normal on Monday (June 21).
