KUCHING, May 23: Political activist Voon Shiak Ni reminded that the onus is on the people to sustain the single digit Covid-19 cases in Sarawak and prevent a second wave of outbreak.

“Sarawak recorded one positive case yesterday (May 22) after seven days of clean record.

“This is an alert alarm for all of us to take precautionary measures seriously due to invisible risk of exposure as 88 per cent of Covid cases were asymtomatic or have only mild symptoms,” she said in a statement today.

Voon highlighted that everyone is facing the risks of exposure when going outside including markets, shopping malls, using public transport and in crowded places.

While the development of vaccine is still a long way to go, she noted that to win over Covid-19 is an extremely uphill tasks but it is people’s responsible actions that will help the state curb Covid-19.

“It takes full cooperation and commitment of the public to do their best to protect themselves and others in order to prevent any new clusters of the infection.

“People must be ready and willing to give the best cooperation during this Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) including giving their name and contact details when required when entering shops and offices,” she added.

Voon is also hopeful to see the entire Sarawak become a green zone soon._DayakDaily
