SIBU, Jan 21: Pelawan assemblyman Michael Tiang’s hope for this year is to fulfil his 2021 election manifesto.
His election manifesto features six strategies to build a ‘New Pelawan’.
They are improving the drainage system, upgrading the main carriageway, smart home projects, initiating youth entrepreneurship, enriching community parks, and elevating healthcare facilities.
“This year, well my hope is to implement most of my (election) manifesto of road and parks upgrades and affordable housing in my area,” he said this when hosting a Chinese New Year dinner cum gathering for the media yesterday.
Tiang, who is also the deputy minister of Public Health and Housing, said he can fully focus on implementing his manifesto as this year is not an election year.
“I am very excited about this year because this year we can focus on serving the people, launching some of the initiatives, some of the programmes without doing it in campaign mode as there is no election this year,” he said.
On the gathering, he said it was to show his appreciation to local media for helping to publicise his many activities.
“In collaborating with the mainstream media, we can continue to report factual news and also some of the positive messages. I appreciate this partnership. I really appreciate your friendship,” he emphasised. — DayakDaily
