SIBU, Jan 28: The merger between the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) will be looked into after Chinese New Year, says Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.

“We will see what happens after the Chinese New Year. We will see how this festive season, the Year of the Dragon, works for us. So, we are looking forward to good things,” said the PDP deputy president during the party’s Chinese New Year gathering at a local hotel last night (Jan 27).

He stressed that currently, both parties are working together and reducing politicking.

“I don’t see the harm in any party willing to work together for the good of the people and the country. We live together in harmony, especially when it comes to festive seasons. We forget about political affiliation,” he said.

Meanwhile, when asked about the willingness of PDP grassroots members to accept PSB members, he said that direction had been explained to them.

“In PDP, having the supreme council, which is the highest body in the party, what we have decided at the supreme council (level) and also by the party is what we want to tell the grassroots support. We are moving towards that,” he said.

Previously, it was reported that PSB was expected to disband before Chinese New Year and its members to join PDP. — DayakDaily
