KUCHING, Jan 26: With or without an alliance with other local political parties, Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) will contest in all 31 Parliamentary seats in the coming 15th General Election (GE15).

PBK president Voon Lee Shan said the doors are wide open for any interested local parties, but they must be friendly and not hostile.

“All the 31 (Parliamentary) seats we have to fight, but with friendly local parties which we look forward to.

“If there is none, PBK will go on its own,” he told reporters during a press conference at an office at Saradise here today.

Zooming out, Voon said PBK has already joined forces with local parties in Sabah to form a Borneo front against other contenders, especially from Peninsular Malaysia.

He said discussions with Sabah parties, which he would like to conceal for now, have been going on since before Sarawak’s own State election in December 2021.

“Sabah has 25 seats and Sarawak has 31, so in total there are 56 seats. So, this is our intention and our goal.

“We hope that we will have the strength so that in Parliament we can speak about independence for Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.

Voon was also quick to point out that there will be no collaboration with parties from Peninsular Malaysia such as Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah). — DayakDaily
