PBK unveils former SNAP member Ignatius for Batu Danau seat

KUCHING, Aug 13: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) has unveiled Ignatius Joseph Bunsuan as its candidate for the Batu Danau seat for the upcoming state election.

PBK president Voon Lee Shan in a statement today said Ignatius is active in politics, being one of the co-founders of Sarawak National Party (SNAP) Youth Limbang Division in 1988.


Voon added Ignatius had also served as secretary to SNAP and was an executive committee (EXCO) member of SNAP Youth Sarawak.

“I am pleased as President of PBK to introduce Ignatius Joseph Bunsuan to the public as the party’s potential candidate for N.80 Batu Danau.

“He is a Central Committee Member of the party,” he said in a statement.

Voon said Ignatius obtained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) (Managerial Economics) and Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the US, Post Graduate Certificate in Strategic and International Studies from Oxford University, England and Executive Certificate in Project Management Professionals from Warwick University.

Voon added Ignatius has vast administrative and management experiences after serving for 39 years in both the public and the private sectors.

He said Ignatius was also a personal assistant (PA) to the late Datuk Amar James Wong Kim Min, who was the Minister of Tourism and Local Government for Sarawak.

Voon said Ignatius was also active in socio-cultural activities and thus he was elected as the President of Sarawak Bisaya Association in 1988-1998.

Voon added Ignatius was also appointed as board members or advisors to both local and foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Voon said Ignatius has served as a Councillor of Limbang District Council for 10 years from 1988 to 1998.

Voon added Ignatius has also written several articles on socio-economics and political matters for local interests.

Voon said Ignatius is currently a semi-retired project management consultant. —DayakDaily
