KUCHING, May 8: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) look set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) soon on the allocation of seats to be contested by both parties in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).

Earlier today, representatives from both parties sat down together to discuss the seats which each party will contest.

Representing PBK was its secretary-general Priscilla Lau while PSB was represented by its president Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh who was accompanied by PSB Sibu parliamentary election committee secretary Wong Hie Ping and PSB Miri parliamentary election committee head Datuk Lawrence Lai.

The parties will enter into a written MoU soon to avoid clashing in seats to be contested to maximise the chances of their candidates winning.

“Local-based parties like PSB and PBK must be represented in the Parliament so as to bring a direct voice from Sarawak to the Parliament and to report back to Sarawakians on the decisions of the Malaysian Parliament,” said PBK and PSB in a joint statement today.

They also said that the open channel between Sarawak and Parliament must be transparent and represented for the ultimate benefit of Sarawakians without fear or favour. — DayakDaily
