KUCHING, Jan 15: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) will be set up in 12 divisions throughout Sarawak as part of the party’s strategies to capture the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by the next State Election.

According to its president Voon Lee Shan, the divisions shall be per the administrative districts in Sarawak, such as in Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Bintulu, and so forth.

“After the divisions have been set up, we will try to set up all the 82 branches (of the party). That means in each constituency, there will be one (PBK) branch,” he told reporters during a press conference at his office in Saradise here today.

He added the people had seen great potential in PBK to capture the Sarawak DUN in the 13th Sarawak Election (PRN13).

Meanwhile, Voon noted PBK is now aggressively implementing a membership drive to acquire new members from the youth because those aged 18 and above have been allowed to vote.

He said the party has assessed the situation and found that the youth are very eager to exercise their fundamental rights of democracy.

“We are also looking for potential candidates for the coming PRU15 (Parliamentary election) and will groom young people to fight in the next Sarawak Election.

“So with the membership drive, we hope young Sarawakians will apply to join the party and participate in the political ideologies of PBK, and to spread the news of Sarawak independence and freedom from the Federation of Malaysia,” he added.

On another matter, Voon shared that PBK will continue its main agenda to speak about Sarawak’s intrinsic rights to be independent and not be controlled by any colonial masters. ― DayakDaily
