KUCHING, April 26: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) announced its “Heart of Borneo” candidates for the 14th General Election (GE14) yesterday.
PBDSB supreme council has endorsed two candidates for this general election. One of them is PBDSB president Cobbold John Lusoi, 56, who is an oil palm smallholder and social and native land rights activist.
The party said, as a Dayak Iban and a local man from Sri Aman, he is the most qualified candidate to represent Sri Aman. Cobbold holds a Master in Business Administration and has more than 26 years experience as an activist. Contesting six times in the past, Cobbled is also an experienced candidate.
PBDSB also named Bego Sepop, 53, a Dayak Bidayuh from Kampong Simboh which is at the heart of Puncak Borneo.
Bego, who is PBDSB supreme council member, is a university graduate holding a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (Medical Technology) and a Doctor of Medicine degree. He will be the PBDSB candidate for Puncak Borneo.
“The candidates and areas to contest are finalized based on the current political situation. Both potential candidates passed their screening test and we believe strongly that they can deliver both seats for the party.
“We urged all Dayaks and Sarawakians to unite and provide full support for our candidates in this upcoming GE14,” said PBDSB election director Rapelson Richard Hamit in a press statement yesterday. — DayakDaily
