MIRI, Nov 18: Sawing Kedit has been named as Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru’s (PBDSB) candidate for the Marudi seat in the 12th Sarawak Election.

This was announced by PBDSB’s president Bobby William today

Sawing, 56, who is a retired school headmaster from Rumah Neting Sungai Bair Atas Bakong Beluru Baram, obtained his Bachelor in Education in 2012.

“Marudi is a Dayak majority seat,” Bobby said, adding that the party will announce more candidates from time to time.

He pointed out, that the Dayaks now understand the struggle of PBDS and accept PBDS as the “Hall of Meeting”.

Meanwhile, it is rumoured that the Marudi seat would likely to see more than a candidate standing for election.

In the 11th Sarawak election in 2016, Marudi was won by Datu Dr Penguang Manggil who stood as a Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate.

Penguang garnered 5,493 votes to defeat Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)’s Elia Bit and independent Louis Jalong with a majority of 1,387. — DayakDaily
