PBB’s Hanifah to face PKR’s Abdul Jalil in Mukah

MUKAH, April 28: It is a straight fight between Barisan Nasional-Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (BN-PBB) Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib and Pakatan Harapan-Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PH-PKR) candidate Abdul Jalil Bujang in Mukah.

Hanifah, 46, is the daughter of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.

Abdul Jalil formerly contested against former Balingian state assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo who took over from Taib after the latter announced his retirement in 2014.

Prior to that, Abdul Jalil also stood in other constituencies against the ruling coalition.

Hanifah, took over the seat from former MP Tan Sri Dr Leo Michael Toyad Abdullah who was removed due to his unpopularity among the grassroots.

Both PBB Women’s chief Datuk Fatimah Abdullah and Yussibnosh were in Mukah to give their support to Hanifah. — DayakDaily
