PBB Youth entrusted with unprecedented confidence by party’s top leadership

KUCHING, June 17: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth has been entrusted with unprecedented confidence as shown by the fact that there are nine elected representatives, one deputy minister and two political secretaries from the wing.

Its outgoing youth chief Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu called for the achievement to be put on record at the opening ceremony of the PBB Women and Youth wings Assembly held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here today.


He said there one leader from PBB Youth who has been appointed as deputy minister and that is Rentap himself who is the Youth and Sport Development Deputy Minister.

There are eight assemblymen from PBB youth including Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh, Sadong Jaya assemblyman Aidel Lariwoo, Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong, Stakan assemblyman Datuk Hamzah Ibrahim, Tanjung Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan, Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine and Rentap himself, who is Layar assemblyman.

There is also a MP from PBB Youth namely Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni.

Apart from the eight elected representatives and one deputy ministerial post, members of PBB Youth are also entrusted with two political secretary appointments, namely Damen Rejek and Fazzrudin, who is the chief political secretary.

Members of PBB Youth are also appointed as councillors in local authorities.

“Never before in the history of the PBB Youth and Women wings that such high recognition, mandate and confidence has been given by the top leadership. Well done,” said Rentap.

Rentap joined PBB in 1990 and became Youth Exco in 1996.

Following the retirement of his father former Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, Rentap took over the State seat of Layar in 2016.

He became PBB Youth chief in 2018 and gave way to Miro during the ongoing PBB Triennial General Meeting after moving up a notch as the party’s vice president. — DayakDaily
