KUCHING, Feb 15: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) has not yet to discuss the membership application of former Democratic Action Party (DAP) leader Abdul Aziz Isa.
When questioned about the status of Abdul Aziz’s application during a press conference at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today, President of PBB Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Openg said the party has yet to discuss about his application.
“(We) don’t discuss it here. Don’t tell me that the person is so important that we have to discuss it (here),” said Abang Johari when met by the media after the opening of 16th Triennial General Meeting at BCCK here.
PBB deputy president Datuk Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who was also at the press conference added that there are numerous matters to attend to during the convention and no deliberation on the application.
Abdul Aziz, who was DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) publicity secretary, had contested the Batu Kitang seat under DAP’s banner in 2016 and 2021.
He officially submitted his application to join PBB on Jan 28, 2025 citing Sarawak’s bold progress under Premier Abang Johari’s leadership as a pivotal factor in his decision. —DayakDaily
