KUCHING, Feb 4: The electoral machinery of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women’s Wing is all set for both the 12th Sarawak Election and the 15th Parliamentary Election which may be held concurrently.

In a press statement today, PBB Women’s Wing Supreme Council stressed that it is ready for the Sarawak Election which may be called anytime.

“The main committee and other special committees at the state level for Sarawak Election have been formed and several meetings had been held.

“These specialised committees will handle various election-related matters such as logistics, manifestos, secretariat, VIP visits, war room, operation room and so on,” said the Council.

The Council said all operation rooms at branch level have been instructed to open and operate. And with the possibility of concurrent parliamentary elections, parliamentary operation rooms have also been instructed to be ready.

To prepare for Sarawak Election, PBB women are urged to comply with set Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the new norm when holding activities as well as using new methods of campaigning.

The Council said information regarding the new norms and SOP have been disseminated to the grassroots and explanations on election law had also been made clear to them.

“We must also be ready to face State and parliamentary elections by ensuring that we play a role in the party machinery to make sure that GPS continues to be the people’s choice in the next election to form the State government and be part of the federal government later,” said the Council.

Meanwhile, the Council also urged the public to adhere to the SOP set by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) and to join SDMC to fight Covid-19.

“Do not be swayed by hearsay and fake news,” said the Council whose focus now is to send food baskets to the needy in areas under Movement Control Order (MCO) and Conditional MCO.

The Council also set priority in implementing Sarawak government’s initiatives such as Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC), Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS) and Bantuan Ibu Bersalin (BIB). -DayakDaily
