PBB VP Ibrahim pledges to strengthen party, serve Sarawak

KUCHING, Feb 16: Newly minted vice president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Datuk Ibrahim Baki is committed to strengthening the party and continuing its fight for Sarawak’s rights.

With 40 years of experience in PBB, he vows to ensure the party remains stable, relevant, and dedicated to serving the people.

“It’s a good win. I am honoured and humbled by this win. I would like to first convey my utmost gratitude to the delegates and supporters who have supported me in this journey at this convention.

“My goal is to continue to support the leaders of PBB to ensure that it remains stable and the party stays relevant throughout the ages.

“I am also committed to supporting PBB’s fight with my experience of approximately 40 years with the party since its grassroots level.

“I want to use this opportunity with the experience I have to support the PBB’s efforts. I am ready to carry this greater responsibility to support the party’s efforts,” Ibrahim told reporters after the announcement of the PBB election results at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today.

He is also confident in the current line-up of vice presidents who also have vast experience in the political arena.

“We all intend to strengthen the party and as a grassroot party in Sarawak, we have to do our duties in serving the people and PBB will always deliver what the people want.

“With this composition of supporters from various background, it is a very comprehensive team led by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg,” he added.

Ibrahim has been active in PBB since 1985 as PBB Youth chief.

In 1987, he was elected to as a member of the PBB Youth Executive Committee, and subsequently held the positions of secretary-general and vice president of the Youth branch for 15 years.

Ibrahim, who is also Satok assemblyman, garnered the most support in the race for the four vice presidency posts with 910 votes. – DayakDaily
