MIRI, Nov 13: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pujut Women’s wing is all set for the upcoming 12th Sarawak Election to help Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) to win the Pujut seat.

PBB Pujut Women chief Cr Warzieda Ahmad said that for the upcoming election, they will use new campaigning strategies.

“This includes using social media to disseminate information on various initiatives established by the state government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to our voters in Pujut.

“We will discuss with SUPP Pujut on the election campaigning strategies to ensure we win the seat,” she said yesterday.

In the 11th Sarawak Election in 2016, Pujut was won by Democratic Action Party (DAP) candidate Dr Ting Tiong Choon but was disqualified as its assemblyman in February last year by the Federal Court due to his past dual citizenship; leaving the seat vacant.

During the 11th Sarawak Election, Dr Ting secured 8,899 votes to win the Pujut seat in a four-cornered fight against Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Hii King Chiong who garnered 7,140 votes, PAS candidate Jofri Jaraiee (513 votes) and independent candidate Fong Pau Teck who received 375 votes. — DayakDaily
