KUCHING, Aug 1: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Mambong branch will spearhead a roadshow to promote Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the area.

Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the roadshow, to also include the distribution of GPS flag and specimen of ballot papers would be held soon and to cover all areas in the constituency.

He said the event was necessary to help tell electorates what GPS was all about, its policies and agenda to help develop the state.

“We were told (by GPS top leadership) that the state election is to be held anytime from now.

“And with the current political scenario, we in PBB will have a roadshow to promote GPS among the people, particularly in Mambong,” Dr Jerip, who is Assistant Minister of Transport said today.

He said this when addressing the ‘Ziarah UKAS’ programme at Kpg Sitang Community Hall, along Jalan Borneo Heights today.

PBB Mambong branch acting chairman Datuk Detta Samen, together with leaders of several sub-branches were present.

Dr Jerip said he was aware that several political parties like Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) have started making their presence in the area.

“This is a democratic country, so they are free to move.

“But I can tell you that the people in rural need to support GPS for political stability and to further prosper the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg,” he stressed.

Others at the function were Sarawak Administrative Officer (SAO) from Padawan sub-district office Rangen Jamang, Ukas coordinating officer for Kuching division Frank Richie Duod, representing Ukas director, Penghulu John Jentor.—DayakDaily
