KUCHING, Feb 29: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) information chief Dato Idris Buang, has called on the police to conduct a quick but thorough investigation of a video by ‘Bozz Jebat’ allegedly insulting Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Idris asserted that the content of the video is seen as potentially causing exasperation and provocation among citizens of Sarawak, which could lead to breaches of peace.

“He (Bozz Jebat) has therefore abused the social media platform, and hence has transgressed Section 233 of the MCMC Act (Communications and Multimedia Act 1998), which attracts jail sentence and a hefty fine.

“Furthermore, his insult to YAB Premier DPTS Abang Jo, in particular, is clearly criminal in nature and a breach of Section 504 of the Penal Code,” he claimed in a statement issued today.

According to several news reports, Sarawakians have filed police reports against ‘Bozz Jebat’, who has been identified as Zool Amali Hussin, a former United Malays National Organisation (Umno) member based in Negeri Sembilan.

In the video, Zool allegedly insults Abang Johari and criticises the appointment of Dato Sri Tiong King Sing as Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (Motac). — DayakDaily
