KUCHING, Nov 7: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has an advantage over rival coalitions as its local leadership can make decisions without having to refer to party headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, says Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) information chief Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

He said GPS was a coalition of local parties representing Sarawak’s diverse communities, with its top leadership based in the State.

“This is different from parties whose leaders have to refer to their respective top leadership in Kuala Lumpur before making decisions,” he said when officiating Pesta Pulau Bruit 2026 at Daro today, according to TVS.

Abdul Karim also urged Sarawakians to assess GPS’s five-year administration record before deciding which coalition should lead the State for another term in the upcoming 13th Sarawak Election.

He said voters should consider the State government’s efforts to safeguard public welfare and develop Sarawak over the past five years.

“If we feel this government is good, cares about the people and is responsible, give it the opportunity to govern for another five years,” he said.

He added that the Sarawak Election provided voters with the opportunity to elect their respective representatives and determine which party would form the next State government.

“Let Sarawak be decided by the people of Sarawak. Let Sarawak be decided by Sarawak’s voters,” he said.
