PBB defers party convention due to Covid-19 outbreak

KUCHING, March 16: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi announced that the party’s convention scheduled for April 19 has been postponed.

He told DayakDaily that PBB president Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has decided to postpone the PBB convention to a later date due to the spread of Covid-19 in Sarawak.

“This is because we abide by the preventive measure the Sarawak government has set that no gathering of more than 50 should be held,” said Nanta.

Apart from the PBB convention, Nanta who is also Gabungan Parti Sarawak secretary-general said the ruling coalition will also postpone the launch of its two branches in Samarahan and Betong.

“I just had a meeting with all the secretary-generals of all component parties today. So we have decided that the launch of GPS for our last two branches will also be postponed for the same reason,” said Nanta. — DayakDaily
