KUCHING, July 5: The Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) will be among the topics that will be presented in the Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Central Zone Special Convention 2026 that will be held at the Sibu Indoor Stadium on July 26.
According to PBB secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the Central Zone is the first of four zones—namely the Southern Zone, Betong Zone, and Northern Zone—to host the party’s special convention this year.
The convention is expected to see an attendance of more than 3,000 delegates from 24 branches of the PBB Central Zone.
Nanta, who is also Works Minister and Kapit MP, said he has been appointed chairman of the Central Zone convention and will be assisted by three deputy chairpersons—PBB Women’s chief Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, PBB vice-president Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, and Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
“This morning, we held a coordination meeting to begin all preparations for the convention.
“Several working committees have been established, each headed by elected representatives, while the Central Zone secretariat is led by Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee,” he said during a press conference after chairing the PBB Central Zone Convention Coordination Meeting at the Sibu Indoor Stadium today, as reported by TVS.
He added that the presentation on MA63 will be delivered by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations), Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, while speakers for the PCDS 2030 and other issues, such as politics, have yet to be decided.
Nanta also said that the convention’s keynote address and official opening will be officiated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also the PBB president. — DayakDaily
