KUCHING, Dec 18: The State Health Department is urging all passengers who have boarded QSX 6722 express bus operated by Syarikat Sungai Merah on Dec 17 at about 12.50am to go for Covid-19 screening immediately.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) issued this advice after four Indonesians were tested positive for Covid-19 in Sibu yesterday (Dec 17).

A check on the closed circuit television (CCTV) of Jalan Pahlawan Bus Terminal, according to SDMC in a statement today, found that the four Indonesians were suspected to have boarded the QSX 6722 express bus.

The bus had departed the terminal for Serian at about 1am on the same day.

It was reported yesterday that the four Indonesians were believed to have been sent away by its agent even though tested positive for Covid-19 after taking swab tests at a private medical specialist centre on Dec 15.

The general manager of the private medical facility had informed the Sibu Health Department of the positive cases.

A police report was also lodged after it was suspected that the agent had sent the four to a bus stop in Jalan Bahagia Jaya.

Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit revealed that they had already left for Entikong. — DayakDaily
