MIRI, Feb 19: Pasar Malam Saberkas and Tamu Maigold will start operating tomorrow (Feb 20, 2021).
In a press statement today, Miri City Council (MPP) Mayor Adam Yii said the decision was made after consultation with Miri Division State Disaster Management Committee.
“Upon receiving requests from the traders of Pasar Malam Saberkas and Tamu Maigold and their undertaking to comply with the SOPs (standard operating procedures) imposed, Miri City Council has consulted Miri Division State Disaster Management Committee on the possible re-opening.
“Noted that the Council has just received the endorsement from the authority and the Council has decided that Pasar Malam Saberkas and Tamu Maigold could be opened for business with effect from 20th February 2021,” said Yii.
He, however, reminded the traders and general public to strictly adhere to the SOPs by washing and sanitising hands, maintaining social distancing and wearing face mask.
All traders and customers should continue to undergo body-temperature screening and “check-in” before entering Pasar Malam Saberkas and Tamu Maigold, Yii stressed. — DayakDaily
