KUCHING, Aug 22: Road users are advised to exercise caution when driving within the Isthmus area as there will be partial road closures and diversions in place due to the engineering run of the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) vehicle from Aug 23 to Oct 31.
In an advisory notice today, Sarawak Metro urged motorists to strictly follow and obey all traffic management instructions throughout the period of the ART engineering run to ensure their safety.
The road closure and diversion will commence at the Isthmus bridge traffic light junction in which traffic will only be allowed to turn left.
The designated loop for the ART vechicle will begin at the Isthmus bridge traffic light junction, proceeding towards Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), make a left turn at the roundabout towards the traffic before making a left turn onto Jalan Keruing.
Motorists along Jalan Keruing can take alternative routes available on Jalan Keruing to access SEDC and LCDA Towers, Sarawak Energy headquarters and the shoplots and offices opposite BCCK.
Road users heading to the affected area are strongly advised to plan their journey in advance to minimise inconvenience.
In the event of changes to dates, times or locations related to the ART engineering run, Sarawak Metro assures the public that updates will be promptly provided.
