BINTANGOR, Oct 9: Irresponsible individuals have vandalised the road divider near Ulu Stras junction along Pan Borneo Highway to make a shortcut to the other lane.

Facebook user Apeli Akustik today shared a photo of the affected divider, which has been uninstalled, leaving enough space for a motorcycle to pass through.

“Vandalism kills. This is a dirty work. The road condition has just started to look good, but it has been damaged.

“I hope the authorities will take appropriate action as the road divider has been uninstalled to make an illegal shortcut to the next lane. (This location) is in front of a stall near Ulu Stras junction along Pan Borneo Highway,” the user wrote.

Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) Pan Borneo Highway Branch shared the post on its Facebook page stating that damaged road dividers are one of the rampant vandalism cases along Pan Borneo Highway.

“Do you know that this action is not only wrong in terms of the law, but it can also cause accidents that can take the lives of innocent people?

“Obey the law and drive carefully on Sarawak’s Pan Borneo Highway,” it wrote. — DayakDaily
