Pahang’s Dr Mohamed Sapian takes over from Dr Chin as Sarawak’s new State Health director

KUCHING, June 11: Pahang State Health Department (Public Health) deputy director Dato Dr Mohamed Sapian Mohamed has picked up the baton from Dr Chin Zin Hing as the new Sarawak State Health director effective Monday (June 14).

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, while sharing this news in his Facebook page today, congratulated Dr Mohamed Sapian on his advancement and wished him the best in his coming endeavours.

“Congratulations to Dato Dr Mohamed Sapian Mohamed who has been appointed as the new Sarawak State Health director effective from June 14, 2021.

“He is replacing Dr Chin Zin Hing who retired on May 21, 2021. Previously, Dr Mohamed Sapian was the Deputy Director of State Health (Public Health), Pahang State Health Department since 2018,” he said.

As an experienced Public Health Medical Consultant, Dr Mohamed Sapian practiced as a health officer at Bintulu Division, Semporna, Bera, Rompin and Kuantan Districts before.

He was also elected as the Jengka Hospital director and Pahang State Health Department Vector-Borne Diseases Control Unit senior assistant director.

Dr Mohamed Sapian is now officially the successor of former State Health director Dr Chin, the man who has guided Sarawak through the Covid-19 outbreak alongside the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) until his retirement. — DayakDaily
