KUCHING, May 8: Padungan assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen’s refusal to support the Motion of Thanks to the former Sarawak Governor, the late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, reflects Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) as “hypocrites and a rude political party”, says Semop assemblyman Datuk Abdullah Saidol.

Abdullah said this when debating on the motion in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting here today.

“In reference to YB Padungan’s statement that he does not support this motion, this is a true reflection of the culture and personality of a party with a narrow-minded, aggressive, hypocritical and rude philosophy,” he said.

Abdullah who is also Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and Sarawak Public Communication Unit) further said that disgusting and ugly political culture has no place in Bumi Kenyalang (Sarawak).

“I am sure that many Sarawakians who have gentle manners will be hurt by the attitude of ungrateful people.

“We Sarawakians regardless of religion and race, always conveyed those who have departed with good prayers,” he added.

Earlier, Chong has voiced his and his colleague in Sarawak DAP, Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong’s refusal to support the Motion of Thanks to the late Taib, claiming that while the latter may have contributed to the development of Sarawak, the latter’s administration when he was then chief minister was ‘suspicious’. — DayakDaily
