Padungan rep presents ‘kurma’ to police, Bomba personnel

KUCHING, June 2: Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei hand-delivered boxes of ‘kurma’ (dates) to two police stations and a Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) station in his constituency on the first day of Hari Gawai Dayak.

He said the dates were meant as a token of appreciation for the hard work and commitment of the mentioned uniformed bodies in the Padungan constituency.

“I visited two police stations and a Bomba station in my constituency to hand over ‘kurma’ to officers on duty despite the festive holidays,” said the vice-chairman of Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak in a statement today.


Wong lauded the officers for their dedication and commitment in discharging their respective duties during this festive season.

“I can’t thank them enough for fulfilling their obligation by continue to serve the people despite the fact that it is the festive season,” he said.

On hand to receive the dates were Central Police Station officer-on-duty Corporal Abu Bakar and Padungan Bomba Station supervisor Jeffery. — DayakDaily
