KUCHING, July 1: A total of RM1,009,207 has been distributed to 77 recipients, consisting of Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs), houses of worship, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), through the Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant in the Tasik Biru area on Monday (June 30).
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Tasik Biru assemblyman, Dato Henry Harry Jinep, said that this was the third disbursement of the grant this year.
The grant is aimed at covering annual programme expenses, including utility costs, hall operations, as well as building repairs and upgrades.
“To date, a total of RM3,260,444 has been disbursed for the same purpose throughout this year, including to organisations located outside the Tasik Biru area,” said Henry, who is also the Deputy Minister of Transport Sarawak (River and Marine).
He also emphasised that the grant is specifically reserved for the people of Sarawak, and therefore, applications from outside the State are not considered.
