KUCHING, Feb 22: Over 97,000 frontliners in Sarawak have been registered to participate in the Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccination programme that is kicking off on Feb 24.
“We have gathered the names of over 97,000 frontliners before we start with the vaccination. All of them are already registered,” said Sarawak health director Dr Chin Zin Hing during a Covid-19 press conference here today.
Other than the frontliners, he added, registration forms are already available especially for the high-risk groups such as those aged 60-years-old and above, and individuals with comorbidities.
He said vaccination for high-risk personnel and the public would be done under the second and third phases of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).
On Feb 20, State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas announced that Sarawakians may now register themselves for the vaccination through District Offices (DOs) and health clinics.
Registrations can also be made through the MySejahtera application once the option is ready. — DayakDaily
