SIBU, March 8: More than 200,000 Sarawakians have registered for Covid-19 vaccine through MySejahtera.

Assistant Minister of Housing and Local Government, Dr Annuar Rapaee in saying this at his daily Covid-19 update on Facebook Livestream today said the state came in fourth after Johor, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur in the number of those registered for the vaccine.

“I urge those who have not done so to register their name through MySejahtera. The more the better,” he urged.

Meanwhile, he said Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee will hold a meeting to decide what would best for Flat H and I in Sibu Jaya after both registered a combined total of 100 new cases of Covid-19 today.

Flat H recorded 42 cases while Flat I had 58 cases. Both flats are under lockdown for close to a month now.

“We will decide tomorrow what would be best for the two flats so as to bring down the number of new cases. There are still many cases in Sibu Jaya and we have to be more careful,” said the Nangka assemblyman.

Other flats with new cases included C (4), G (1), M (1),N (2) and R (1).

Of the 149 cases in Sibu district, 33 of them were in Sibu Municipal Council area, eight in Sibu Rural District Council.

“Of the 149 cases, 133 of them were from close contact with positive cases,” he said.

In replying to a viewer who questioned why the number of cases in Sibu was not going down, he said it was due to more tests being carried out on those who had close contact with positive cases. ā€” DayakDaily
