“This event provides an opportunity for the community, especially locals, to participate and set up stalls, generating additional income,” Henry stated during a press conference about the festival in Bau today.

This year’s festival will feature more than 50 stalls offering food, handicrafts, and exhibitions along the main thoroughfare and surrounding the Lobuh Bau area, the new venue for the 18th edition of Pesta Tasik Biru.

Henry, who is also Tasik Biru assemblyman, emphasised that Pesta Tasik Biru 2024 will offer more entertaining events than previous editions, including a variety of local food sales and cultural performances featuring traditional instruments like gongs, as well as live music from local artists.

A highlight of the festival will be the Miss Tasik Biru 2024 pageant, where contestants will compete not only for the title but also to promote and strengthen the traditional culture of the Bidayuh community in the area.

The 18th edition of this festival is a collaborative effort between the Tasik Biru State Assembly, the surrounding Bau region, and the Bau District Office, supported by various government agencies. — DayakDaily
