Over 1,000 attend Sukma 2024 Baton Run in Bintulu

KUCHING, May 11: Despite rainfall, more than 1,000 individuals participated in the Malaysia Games (Sukma) Sarawak 2024 Baton Run held in Bintulu.

The event, officiated by Sukma Sarawak secretariat chief executive officer Datu Hii Chang Kee and Bintulu Resident officer Nyurak Keti, took place at the Bintulu Civic Center today.

According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), various activities were organided alongside the baton run, including aerobic exercises, archery events, and mobile gaming competitions involving athletes, school students, and members of the public.

The Sarawak Sukma XXI Baton Run 2024 will continue its journey through Mukah, Sibu, Kapit, Sri Aman, Betong, Kota Samarahan, Serian, and will conclude in the Kuching division on June 23.

Sarawak Sukma XXI 2024 will feature athletes from across Malaysia competing in 488 events spanning 37 types of sports.

The event is expected to bring together approximately 12,619 athletes and officials from all states. — DayakDaily
