KUCHING, Aug 28: Dato’ Othman Abdillah was re-elected unopposed as the president of Parti Sedar Rakyat Sarawak (Sedar) for 2022-2025 term during the party’s Annual General Congress yesterday (Aug 27).

In a statement today, Othman said the Congress has approved the party’s move to cooperate with five other local parties so as not to clash with each other and focus on one-on-one competition against Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) when contesting in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).

“Therefore, the Congress unanimously supports the strategy to focus efforts to compete in the eight parliamentary seats with Malay and Melanau voters majority as agreed with other parties,” he said.

He also revealed that Sedar will embark on expanding the party to Sabah at the request of a number of the people of the State after being attracted by the party’s various policies to restore the rights of the people.
