KUCHING, Oct 7: The Sarawak Umrah and Hajj Agency Organisation (Pertubuhan Agensi Umrah dan Haji Sarawak, abbreviated as Suha) to facilitate and coordinate Umrah and Hajj activities for Muslims in Sarawak has been officially launched.

According to Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, previously, there was no special body that combined travel agencies to handle Umrah and Hajj activities in Sarawak.

“With the formation of Suha, Muslims in Sarawak have the opportunity to perform Umrah and Hajj in an orderly, systematic, and safe manner.

“The most important thing is that Muslims in Sarawak know where to look for and ask for information regarding umrah and hajj,” he said during the launching ceremony of Suha held at a hotel yesterday (Oct 6).

Suha was established on Jan 24, under the Societies Act 1966, with State registration status.

Suha comprises seven agencies with 11 headquarters and branches in Kuching, Samarahan, Sibu, Tanjong Manis, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang.

The agencies are Safar Al Ghazali Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, Astana Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, Az Safir Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, Wan Zakaria Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, Demak Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, Inter-Continental Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, and Queensway Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd. — DayakDaily
