Orchard caretaker of Suai, Niah robbed

NIAH, Nov 4:  An orchard caretaker has sustained multiple injuries after he was attacked by two robbers on last Thursday.

The incident occurred around 2am in a hut of a private orchard in Suai, Niah.


Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted today confirmed that a report had been lodged on November 2.

“The 66-year-old victim has filed a police report regarding the incident,” he said, adding that after the attack, the victim fell unconscious for two hours.

Prior to the incident, the victim heard knocking on the door which he opened and met the suspects who asked for ‘fuel’.

The victim refused to comply with their demand, following which the two suspects tried to kick open the door which the victim tried to shut.

The suspects attacked the victim and fled off with the victim’s cash amounting to RM300, his MyKad and handphone.

As at press time, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for robberry. — DayakDaily
