MIRI, Oct 12: Miri District police’s narcotics criminal investigation team on Wednesday (October 11), detained 12 men including two locals, for alleged involvement in possession and trafficking of syabu worth RM21,430.
All suspect were aged betweem 22 to 45.
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said, the four operations were held in Miri City, Bekenu and Batu Niah.
A total of 107.25 grammes of syabu was seized during the raids.
In the first raid, two local men were detained around 5.15am yesterday inside an orchard hut in Batu Niah.
“During the first raid, police seized syabu worth RM10,030 (50.15 grammes), followed by the second arrest around 6.45am that same morning inside a hut along the Miri-Bintulu Coastal road,” Alexson said.
In the second raid, police seized drugs believed to be syabu weighing 51.50 grammes worth RM10,300.
Two more suspects were detained during the third raid carried out at Jambatan Suai around 7am. The police seized substances believed to be syabu worth around RM100, followed by another arrest an hour later at a house in Bekenu where police seized syabu weighing 5.10 grammes worth RM1,000. — DayakDaily
