KUCHING, March 26: Only two members of one family are allowed to visit Ramadhan bazaars at any one time and all self-service is prohibited.
The new standard operating procedures (SOPs) released by the Ministry of Local Government and Housing earlier today said all food and drinks have to be handled by the stall operators and staff. Another condition is, the operation time for the bazaars is from 2pm to 8pm every day, for a month, from Apr 12 to May 12 and only takeaways are allowed and no dine-ins.
For the organisers or management of Ramadhan bazaars, they are required to come up with the layout of the entire bazaar with detailed directions of customer-movement and the distribution of stalls.
If plastic barriers between two adjacent stalls are prepared, the distance between them is set at 1 meter apart.
If there are no barriers, the distance between the two stalls will have to be at least two meters apart.
For the operators, only three staff including the owner are allowed to run the stall at any one time.
Necessary equipment such as face masks, face shields, disposable plastic gloves and aprons are mandatory for those working at the bazaar and be in possession of the special passes issued.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update report on Covid-19 yesterday (March 25) also said it is compulsory for all workers, traders and operators to be tested negative for Covid-19 before they are allowed to begin their operations.
The committee emphasised that periodical investigations would be conducted to ensure compliance with SOPs by all workers, traders, operators and management at all times.
If found not complying with established SOPs set, such stalls or bazaars would be instructed to close down. —DayakDaily
