One dead, two injured in lorry-truck collision in Selangau

SELANGAU, March 13: A 38-year-old logistics worker was killed after the lorry carrying fertiliser that he was in collided with a cement truck near SK Sungai Sepiring, Pan Borneo Road here today.

According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a team of firefighters from Selangau fire station was despatched to the location upon receiving a call at 6.22am.

The deceased, who was thrown out of the vehicle upon impact, was confirmed dead by Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel at the scene.

His 33-year-old colleague who was driving the lorry managed to get out of the vehicle on his own. He sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the cement truck was driven by a 64-year-old man who also sustained injuries.

The two men who survived the accident were sent to hospital for further treatment while the remains of the deceased were given to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
