One Covid-19 case from Bintulu, Simunjan turns green today

KUCHING, June 19: Sarawak recorded one new positive case of Covid-19 from Bintulu today.

The information was disclosed by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement.

SDMC revealed that the positive case was a close contact to case number 558.

The committee explained that the latest Covid-19 patient is a 67-year-old man who was detected following swab tests conducted for close contacts of case 558.

It disclosed that the patient is asymptomatic.

With the additional case, SDMC asserted that the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak has increased to 566 cases.

It gathered that there was one patient who has recovered and discharged from the hospital today.

Apart from that, SDMC said there are 38 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) with three cases of PUI awaiting laboratory results.

At the same time, the committee revealed that Simunjan district has became a green zone today after there were no positive cases recorded in the past 14 days.

With Simunjan turned green, SDMC observed that there are three districts which are still remaining in the yellow zone.Ā They are Kota Samarahan, Kuching and Bintulu.

On another note, SDMC said there were 44 Sarawakians who have returned to Sarawak today and registered into hotels as person-under surveillance (PUS).

The committee revealed that there are 607 people who are still undergoing quarantine at the respective hotels throughout Sarawak whilst 16,297 PUS have completed their 14 days quarantine today.Ā ā€”DayakDaily
