MIRI, March 31: A 31-year-old offshore worker from Rumah Sigan Ulu Niah has been taken into police custody after he allegedly grabbed a shotgun and threatened to shoot a man at a wedding reception at a longhouse in Lambir.

The incident occurred on March 15 (Sunday) around 2am. No one was reported injured during the incident.

Following a police report lodged over the incident, yesterday around 8.13pm, a Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team led by Inspector Fredly Juing apprehended the suspect.

According to police sources, the commotion at the longhouse earlier this month was triggered after somebody at the wedding reception dared the suspect over something.
